If you  start a new twitter you will gain more followers faster if you tweet 10 or more tweets before you follow anyone. The logic is when people visit your twitter if your not active they have a tendency not to follow you. It is also important on twitter to start conversations not just ask for business. Try posting relevant post to your industry with links to other websites. This gives you more credibility with followers. It's also said you will attain more views if you attach a photo with your post.
